<p>If you’ve never been to Muir Woods, it is one of my fav’s, especially on a clear day (also cool in the fog).</p>
<p>Glen Park area has la petit Laurent, nice reasonably priced fFrench food and another fav of mine. </p>
<p>I will have to think about Mission District NON food specifics. I am thinking of a place with inreresting plants, one with textiles and furniture, one with record players…but I don’t know names and addresses. </p>

<p>Re shopping in the Mission: I love Paxton Gates, a natural history and gardening shop on Valencia near 19th Street. It’s right next door to Dave Eggers’ fabulous Pirate Shop that he runs for his foundation, 826 Valencia. The shop is great fun for kids of all ages, including grown up kids-at-heart (like me!) That same block has some other cool boutiques with a mix of stylish clothes and new and vintage home furnishings. Right across the street at the other end of the block is a restaurant I really like called Dosa. It’s a chic place that serves Southern Indian food. yum. I second the recommendations for Delfine’s, which isn’t too far away. Lots of good tacquerias in the neighbor too, if you are looking for something more casual. </p>

<p>If you do Oakland, the Oakland Museum is a little gem. Drawers of collections. they have interesting displays.

<p>The TCho Chocalate factory tour is wonderful. Must make reservations. tour only takes an hour or so, but you learn a lot about fabulous chocolate. It is on the Embarcodaro. </p>

<p>If you’ve ever seen the terrific documentary, The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, you might check out wherever the flock(s) are now, which is mostly near Coit Tower and, I gather, Upper Fort Mason. You may be able to search online for sightings.</p>
<p>Lergmom, saw (and heard) the wild parrots in the little park at Washington & Drumm (near Embarcadero buildings) a few weeks ago…</p>
