Voices of Tufts Diversity

@math3matical I’ve gotten no info besides the flight plans :frowning:

@interstellvr At least I am not alone. I sent them an email.

Does anyone know if they reimburse your transportation fees to your home airport, such as airport parking or taxi fares?

I don’t think so but you could ask in an email @Shabeezy Also I received traveling info

@math3matical
Did you receive this traveling info separate from your plane tickets? If yes, what does it say?

It gave me the cell phone number of anyone else who is flying around the same time as me (or from the same state). It also gave final directions to print out important information before the trip (emergency numbers in case a flight gets delayed or something; what the bus will look like). My hosts also introduced themselves over text and I was given their number and a “group color” for some reason: neon yellow (ew). Haha, I’m excited to leave tonight. @Shabeezy

@math3matical
Thanks and have fun

Good luck and I hope all have fun at the Engineering Session tomorrow and Friday! :slight_smile:

Thanks guys! I’ll let you guys know how it goes (but don’t worry I’ll try not to spoil anything :wink: @Shabeezy @tennisgirl07

Okay, so Tufts gives A LOT of freedom during the voices program. The whole night you can do basically whatever you want (so long as you do not go off campus [even though some did…]). It was fun and I met some interesting people. Also the food is better than I expected.

And ask someone to show you the “echo spot” on campus. IT IS SO COOL.

@math3matical Thats great! Mind telling us how the schedule looked like for you?

@tennisgirl07 They are not very organized with their scheduling (at least this time around). For those who are traveling from the west coast, they arrive earlier so breakfast is served right after they arrive. I was one of these west coast travelers who took a red-eye flight so I took a nap after breakfast in a dorm lounge with a couple other guys :)) After breakfast there are options to attend a class, then lunch quickly rolls around, activities and info sessions, games, you eat dinner, meet your hosts, then you and your host (or any other participant can explore campus). Technically you are not allowed to leave campus but some hosts took their kids to MIT. The next day goes by quickly with breakfast, interesting mini sessions led by professors, lunch, and then a farewell.

@math3matical Thanks a lot for the info man.
Just need a little information on hosts.
Did they have an air mattress or bed, or did you bring your own sleeping bag etc.?
Does Tufts give you the contact information of the hosts so you can ask them?
Thanks

@Shebeezy You should receive your hosts phone number and you can text them. They usually can accommodate you without having to bring a sleeping bag. Just contact them before hand :slight_smile:

@math3matical but when do we know when they will contact us about being our host?

@tennisgirl07
Judging by his posts, the extra info should come by the end of today. Max tomorrow

@tennisgirl07
My info came

@Shabeezy Did you receive information about your flight and stuff or from your host? I haven’t received anything yet …

The information I got had the people that were on the same flight as me, and just some reminders. It had info about the shuttle that will pick us up. It had nothing from the host or their contact info, but Jeannine told me that I should receive an email about that soon.
