<p>Thanks for your reply. I won’t ever be able to make this school work. Basically, I’m in an engineering school (nearly a vocational school for engineers despite being a top 50 school) and I’m more interested in the liberal arts. On top of that, it’s in a terrible location (for me at least), and I really wanted to go to school in a city.</p>
<p>I’ve met nice people, and I’m sure I’ll make friends while I’m here, but I don’t want to leave for social reasons.</p>
<p>The reason I asked about transferring after the first semester instead of waiting a year and apply as a transfer for Fall 2011 is because I’m concerned that I would just be judged as if I was a freshman applicant and my college record for the first semester wouldn’t matter. I’m probably looking to transfer to NYU Steinhardt, and I’m not sure if I would have been accepted there if I applied out of high school.</p>
