Syracuse University was my first choice school and when I heard from them, they told me i was waitlisted!!! argggh!!

but i myself together and i hounded them like crazy, calling them everyday, make THEM know YOU. Although, I sent them another esay on how I changed from the application I sent in. Also I asked two of my teachers in my two best subjects at the time: English and AP Biology, to write me a recommendation. Likely on Monday they called me and told me I’m in!

Beginning on May 7, Carolina offered admission to 238 first-year candidates who had previously accepted a place on the waiting list. Admitted students–who were notified by telephone and will begin receiving letters by mail early next week–will have until May 23 to accept or decline their admission. Please note that neither these decisions nor the reply form will be available online. We expect to resolve the waiting list completely no later than June 30.

someone asked about Miami (OH), sounds like they have gotten confirmations from more students than their target, so probably not going to use their wait list.

Yeah sorry I messed that up. Here is the correct version…

wow, does this mean Harvard’s yield wasn’t quite as good and Yale’s was better than expected?
or was Harvard just being more conservative?
in any case, 150-175 is a LOT. I was hoping for more than 45 for Yale though.

you mean harvard expected their yield to be lower.

but Yale expected the same and were being conservative too.

both articles say they will start telling people this week. well, it’s friday. how come no one has posted that they’ve been called? Are they doing it over the weekend?

Hey for Yale, over on another thread poster, HandsAcrossTime, announced that he/she had been pulled off waitlist. I guess Yale is telling those lucky people today.

Do you think that all 45 students are informed today?
