<p>Tututaxi: it doesn’t work like that because colleges know about how many students they need to accept to get the yield they want. (granted, this year is a bit unusual with all the changed to the top-tier’s financial aid packages, and so many kids applying to so many schools…). But just because you know of kids accepted to more than one HYP, it doesn’t mean that their turning down the Yale spot will open up more Yale spots for others on the waitlist. Although, for the sake of all those waitlisted students, it might be nice… ;)</p>
