<p>Also, a few years back a friend of mine worked in the admissions offices for two top-20 universities. She told me, at most, one can send a one page letter from the student stating your interest and any new relevant information. If someone other than the student sends material to them or if you supply additional recommendations or rehash information that was already submitted, it will work against you.</p>
