walmart gets bad press amazon mostly sneaks under the radar

To folks who think that Amazon is going to take over our robot-run future… Everyone’s darling Google (or shall I say AlphaBet?) is not that far behind. and it is not the self-driving car we are looking at but a (clumsy but steadily improving ) version of the Terminator running through the woods:

And smaller players are all in:

Either her husband is extraordinarily well-thought-of at his new job, or she is not very smart. But I agree that its an interesting piece.

I just had a conversation with somebody regarding this person we know at a defense company. She put in similar hours without the benefit of free dinner. Plus when she went in maternity she came back within a week, company usually pays for six week. So it’s this person is trying to prove she is close to a robot and everybody was wowing as if this was an accomplishment.
So there are some nut cases out there and they are not necessary in high tech.

When I was working in high tech, yes I stayed for dinner sometimes, but I didn’t work any harder, I socialized. My kids were well fed at home. But I only did it occasionally for convenience sake.
