was anyone not asked to send midyear reports (especially if you have high scores)?

I was asked for my mid-year before the semester was even finished. I did submit them as soon as I got them. I am not going to post my stats because they are the lowest you will probably see on this thread. My GPA unweighted is 3.5. I just assumed they asked everyone for their mid-year grades until I investigated a little on their website today. I was originally notified on the portal that they wanted “secondary school report”.

To be honest with you though, I have been told by everyone, (even my school counselor( that I didn’t have a chance of being accepted at USC. I decided to try anyway because I truly believe a well-written essay can explain lower standardized tests scores. I probably won’t get accepted, but it sure has been great trying. I would never know and always wonder if I did not reach for that gold standard.

I wish you all a lot of luck and I hope I see you on campus in the fall.

Here is the information about mid-year grades that I got off of the portal website.

"We find that an applicant’s mid-year, senior-year grades can help us make better admission decisions. These grades can show how applicants handle some of the most challenging courses of their high school career, or they can further illustrate emerging trends in overall performance.

We often request mid-year grades in January and February. We will need a quick response. You may submit them (even if we haven’t requested them) to: http://www.usc.edu/midyeargrades</a>

If you choose to mail them, be sure to write “Mid Year Report” on the envelope to ensure speedy handling."
