I think, in the end, you should study what you want. Do I wish my daughter studied engineering, CS or accounting, etc. of course - but that’s not her.
And there are no absolutes.
If your interest is global studies or neuroscience and not Econ, then why study Econ?
You can get to anywhere from anywhere.
And of the other 63%, where are they ? Likely mostly in grad school but that’s because these are academic and not pre professional majors.
