I turned down hopkins BME for WashU BME. Actually alot of my friends turned down Hopkins BME for WashU BME. Hopkins has the name recognition but a good number of Hopkins faculty followed Frank Yin (the BME Dean) to WashU.

WashU is def less competitive… but it is still very rigorous. WashU is also known as an up-and-coming school. I’m sure that by the time you graduate or get a job, WashU will be as well known as Hopkins IMO.

And as for St. Louis… as long as you don’t head over to east St. Louis you’re fine. Clayton is very nice and the metrolink takes you anywhere almost in the city. Just don’t cross the rive. But Hopkins is in the middle of Baltimore… leave campus at your own risk.

Yes… I am endorsing WashU. But I’m biased.
