***WashU Class of 2020 RD Applicant Thread***

@vh1818 Did she hear through email?

@terry137 The dates for Wash U acceptances for the last 4 years are posted on the link above, and I also found 2011 on another thread. For the last 5 years, applicants were notified on either the second Monday or the second Friday of March, whichever came first. If that pattern holds true this year, I assume decisions might be available this Friday, March 11th.

Yeah, we are definitely hearing through portal/email first.

Wash U notification dates:
2015: online March 9 at 5 pm EDT (2nd Monday)
2014: online March 10 at 5 pm EDT (2nd Monday)
2013: March 8 (2nd Friday)
2012: March 9 (2nd Friday)
2011: March 11 (2nd Friday)

I still hope for an acceptance after not receiving the scholarship ahh :frowning:

@vh1818 my friends sister got into oblin graduate school yesterday. Guess we will find out in this week. Btw where is everyone from? I am an international from Pakistan

@terry137 I am an international from Germany who was deferred ED. Hope to be admitted RD, but not that hopeful though.

I feel like it will be tomorrow March 7th

@Saphys why are you leaving germany?!?!? I would kill to study engineering in germany. Even thought about learning german one for TU munich or TU berlin

Besides, i have been to europe and usa earlier so i gave an unbiased opinion as an asian. Europe is the best place to live.

@NickDS I really hope it’s tomorrow too. Around what time do we think?

@jetynz if they follow the pattern from previous years, decisions should be released at 5pm eastern

I hope for March 7 too, but isn’t everyone saying it will be March 11 this year?

Lol I’m going to be WLed because I have shown no demonstrated interest

Hey! I was accepted into ED this year and I thought I’d just let you guys know that the email notification stating that your decision is ready came like a couple days later after it was already out. So I would suggest checking CC and your portal for earliest notice. That being said, there’s really nothing you can do about it now so just chill out and focus on other things. There’s no point in hyping decisions up more than they already are!

Good luck! Hope you all make it in WashU Class of 2020!

This is most likely not the case for RD.

Based on last year’s thread, it appears that Wash U did not send out a decision notice a few days prior to releasing decisions. Following past cycles, decisions will most likely come out on March 11 (most likely) or March 7.

@golfcashoahu You perfectly described why WashU DOES care about demonstrated interest. They have records showing if you attended a tour or if you went to information sessions. They keep track of emails and see how interested you are.

Demonstrated interest is most definitely important for Wash U.

@jetynz according to their Common Data Set (https://wustl.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/wustl-cds-2014-2015.pdf), Demonstrated Interest is considered, but not Important or Very Important. Then again, I’m probably biased because I did not demonstrate a ton of interest (I live on east coast and did not visit, though I did apply for a merit scholarship and attend an info session when they came to my school).

Honestly if you are genuinely interested in attending washu because you really want to go there, you wont think of demonstrating interest as check list thing you have to do. When I applied a few years ago I didnt know they cared so much about demonstrated interest or that they even considered it. I simply went to local info sessions, visited, and did an interview because I wanted to attend the school and wanted to learn more about it. I only found out about how much they cared about this interest thing after I got in. They want to admit students who actually really want to go to the school.
