<p>This is getting ridiculous. Soon we will be buying airline tickets for $25, but it will cost $500 to check a suitcase… and of course carry-ons will be limited to 5 inches or 2 lbs. </p>
<p>The airlines are learning from the banks.</p>
<p>We did once buy my S a ticket for a bargain fare (since I used a voucher left over from a prior refund). He was charged $100 because his checked bag was over 50 pounds. This was well over the price of the ticket but since he was a college student & didn’t want to miss his plane, he didn’t argue (tho he could easily have reshuffled things to make the checked bag lighter).</p>
<p>Airlines really do take advantage of whomever they can!</p>
