<p>Like a kite she flew along
the course long island shore</p>
<p>her halyards singing a song
the captain had heard before</p>

green. yet trained so well</p>
<p>this morning they were unsung

her gleaming white hull
a princess among men</p>

it was all for naught
would she finish

with their regiment and tacks
clearly an academy boat</p>
<p>but when she got stuck
with the wind at her back
her loss was already wrote</p>
<p>Twas a two way race
it was to be
midshipmen versus midshipmen</p>
<p>their flags flying high
for all us to see
a battle against their own kin men</p>
<p>Kings Point fired hard’
with a straight steady course</p>
<p>while Navy tacked to and frow</p>
<p>In the end Kings point
finished with force</p>
<p>with Annapolis
as its tow</p>
