Watergate hearings started 40 years ago today, what do you remember?

I am a high school AP US History student taking the exam on Wednesday and I spent quite a bit of time today reviewing Nixon’d

Presidency and watergate and its pretty impressive to see you all really sharing your experiences, I really see now how impacting history is. Reading your posts is like reading real live DBQ sources

My parents weren’t even born .-.

After reading this thread yesterday, my 15 year old coincidentally asked about Watergate. He had just this week taken the AP US History exam. You know you’re old when your child is studying your life events as history.

In commemoration, we fired up ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN. It still holds up.

I waas 14 and watched the hearongs that summer… It was evident when Butterfield admitted the existence of a taping system that it was a game changer…

<<<<During preparation, when the staff members ask Butterfield how the White House could have such detailed knowledge of the conversations, Butterfield replies: “I was hoping you guys wouldn’t ask me that.… Well, yes, there’s a recording system in the White House.”<<<<<<

Am I the only one who remembers the Rose Mary Stretch?

I was a toddler so I don’t remember anything, but years later I worked with a member of the Nixon family and did a significant amount of research.

mini, nope, you’re not.
