OH yes. :)

I can tell you the whole long story if you’d like (in five-part harmony), especially since I am responsible for it in the first place… but in short, the most rabid and knowledgeable alumni fans call themselves the [Blue Jay Bananas](www.jhu.edu/news_info/laxquiz/lax10b.html). They wear yellow t-shirts, try to sit near the band, raise a banana during the counting cheers after what is generally among them agreed to be the decisive goal of the game (the banana goal), and then award “game bananas” to players most deserving of notice for their play in that game. (The practice is now to award several game bananas, rather than the single banana awarded in the Early Years.)

Aren’t you glad you asked? ;)

(PS: Is that picture of Harrison with the banana online anywhere? I’d love to see it…)
