Is there a special place your husband liked to go to? Could you get them a gift certificate for dinner there?
Or a special bottle of wine…or something that they would think of your husband when they used?

I used to collect hand painted blown glass ornaments, and even belonged to a local club. IME people can have VERY different taste in ornaments. While there are those who enjoy collecting all kinds of things to but on their tree, “lovely” is definitely in the eye of the beholder. If you have some idea of the FSIL’s taste, it would help.
Congratulations to the couple and their families! From every price point: a cruise (we gave a cruise to our son and dill. A weekend getaway. Art for their walls. Food delivery service…like $100 for local Chinese, Indian, vegetarian restaurants. Do they have a registry? A set of china from Bloomingdales and Bed Bath and Beyond. I have spent (for a whole set)$135 for a set including serving pieces. EBay for crystal glasses…a mixed set. As far as china…if one is eating at home…and not with their fingers…they will need plates. One set will do.
Going to be honest – the “couple’s caricature” from Etsy doesn’t sound like a good idea to me. I would NEVER hang something like that in my house, and would feel guilty whenever the person who gave it to me visited.
If they don’t need anything, then I like the idea of a fun excursion in Hawaii. Depending on price point, you could include dinner after the excursion. You could also get the ornament, which would remind them of their trip.
Congratulations to your son, his partner, and your family. Whatever you decide, I encourage you to get a Christmas ornament from Hawaii for them. H and I love to hang our honeymoon ornament on the tree each year. The only ornaments we love more are the ones our kids made in elementary school.
Even those in small spaces people need a few essentials. Years ago I gave someone who requested only money a nice cutting board. There are beautiful, and splurge cutting boards, perhaps even made with Hawaiian wood. They can be thin as well as decorative.
Serving utensils are also of use for most people who at least occasionally entertain. A sterling serving spoon or two? A salad set, engraved with their names?
I just stumbled across this. Apparently Gillette is taking out attack ads against them, so they must be good! I think a pair of these followed by the “family plan” would be a great gift for two guys. If not for their wedding, maybe later.
