Great news!
I really like Fiber One Original cereal (NOT the sweetened flakes flavor) and have it for breakfast about half the time. A 2/3c serving has 18g fiber and 3g protein.

Iām good, Iām still maintaining my weight with 1 dose every 5-6 weeks.
I still struggle with my protein intake and donāt really like meat.
I have 2 more weeks on the docs samples so low dose. Loosing about a pound a week. I struggle with protein too since I really love carbs. Also wine , sigh.
To those struggling in terms of protein intake, I make hard boiled eggs which I take with me to work and also add them to my salads.
And I also often make an egg and just add it to my dinner, depending on what Iām having.
Any chance you like shrimp? Decent protein, low calorie.
Iāve lost 23 lbs so far. Iām finding some foods cause gastrointestinal issues so I am adjusting my diet.
I used to eat eggs for breakfast, but unfortunately those donāt agree with me and the medication, and now Greek Yogurt with some fruit is my go-to breakfast.
If youāre looking for a high protein smoothie, hereās one of my go-tos:
3/4 cup Siggiās Icelandic or any Greek yogurt (I use non fat, plain)
1/2 banana
1 1/2 cup of berries and cherries (I use strawberries, cherries and raspberries)
1 tablespoons almond or peanut butter
2-3 teaspoons of honey
Water to your preferred level of smoothie thickness (you can also use nut milk or soy if you want more protein)
*I sometimes add a scoop of collagen peptides to this recipe, but I donāt love how it changes the consistency. If it doesnāt bother you, itās a great way to add even more protein
Other options for protein are hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and chia seeds.
Pistachios too!
Down 32 so far (Mounjaro, 10 mg). Glucose numbers look marvelous. Need to get my a1c checked, but suspect it will be back under 7 by now. Am doing the injection about every 12 days. I want to hear the food noise return so I can learn to handle it more effectively. Supply chain now seems to be working well; am able to get my refills on a timely basis.
FAntastic!
I forget who mentioned morning nausea (itās a long thread and I donāt check in a lot).
I was having that to the point of dry heaves when I woke up. I realized it was because, ironically, my stomach was too empty. I keep peanut butter crackers on hand and if Iām feeling that way I eat a few right away when I get up. Does the trick. I guess I could have a little snack before bedtime, but itās not every morning.
I am not sure what my doctor will say when I go in February. I have lost 40 lbs, with most of it coming off in the last 6-8 months. It took a while for it to show in clothing sizes, but I have gone down several sizes in the same make and style of clothing. I am 5-1, so every pound counts. I would love to lose 10 more, but I seem stuck at this weight (which is still GOOD, donāt get me wrong - at this point itās vanity).
I experimented by taking the shot every other week, and it didnāt seem to make a difference in cravings, food noise, etc. It was only for about a month, so who knows if long-term it would start to change things.
Just got back from the doctorās office. Iāve lost 17 pounds since I started in late June. Woo hoo! Iām currently on .5 of zepbound, and we decided to stay there for a bit to see if I can keep losing without increasing.
I still have so far to go (I want to lose 95 more pounds) thatās it kind of overwhelming. But Iām happy to see progress. Iām hoping for 20 more by Christmas, but that might be pushing it. Weāll see.
I am down 40 pounds from where I started Zepbound in January. Itās been a slowish process for me with some months going better than others, but Iām within 5 lbs of my goal. Iām not sure what will happen when I reach my goal, as far as maintenance goes, but currently my weekly dose is 7.5 mg. I have had some pretty intense nausea at this dose, the worst is about 24 hours after the shot, but I have managed to curb it by eating very healthily and lightly the day after the shot.
PLOT TWIST:
Yesterday I slipped in shower and smashed my front teeth. ugh! Saw oral surgeon today to put back in place (basically they were up in my gums) and wired the front top row together. Bottom ones might be okayāwait and see.
Soooāmy supply of protein shakes is really coming in handy, and I think Iāll just be limited to liquid or very soft food for quite some time, so that should fit in well with the Zepbound , actually.
researching soft foods and how to stay on track. (Lost two pounds yesterday, but not really how I want to).
Anyway, howās your day?
Oh my goodness, this is awful. I hope every other part of you is ok - scary!
Pretty sure that was the only real injury. My neck is a bit sore, probably from snapping back when I hit, but not at whiplash territory. Some bruises are popping up on shins and maybe Iāll find more, but honestly, my pour teeth took the brunt of it. Still not sure how it happened; I stepped on a slippery spotāweāre not sure whatāand my leg shot out from under me. Somehow twisted to hit faceāit was so sudden and confusing, Iām still not sure how, but I was banging around a lot on the way down and I think just got turned that way.
No starsāwould NOT recommend.
Oh my that sounds horrific. I hope you recover well. Iām certain thatās not the way you wanted to lose weight.
OMG. That sounds positively nightmarish. You have my utmost sympathy!!!
Oh no! Poor you! FWIW, weāve found the fairlife high protein shakes in both chocolate and vanilla to be the tastiest. (Because Iām raising two boys who canāt seem to maintain weight given their sports, and so I have to load up the calories and protein for them as much as I can, so I feel like weāve tried every protein product out there.)
