Dragging us up from page three!!! How is everyone doing? Today I left my classroom for a few minutes and came back to find a frosted cupcake, a slice of pizza and a bag of cookies and fudge on my desk. Some “Elves” must have left them. I ate one bite of the cupcake and one small piece of fudge. The rest was quietly disposed of.

Blasted holiday party at work! I was the only one who brought veggies (they were gone!), the others brought cookies and other baked sweets. I only ate a small chunk of a brownie and a Mexican wedding cookie. :)

I haven’t gained or lost for a month. Which really is fine we’ve had parties every weekend for the last three weeks. I’ve been really busy and skipped a few gym days, but I got there today. The building department had a plate of cookies on the counter and it turned out they’d made an error with a form so I stood in front of it for way too long. There was the most delicious peanut butter bar cookie with a chocolate top. Like a Reeses that died and went to cookie heaven.

I can’t pass any cookie I was just thinking how I used to make so many kinds of Christmas cookies. Almost none now…1/2 of that is because I’m old and tired, but the other 1/2 is that my H isn’t a cookie guy, and I know who would be eating all of them. I am still master of peanut butter fudge though! I’m also going to try the baklava that was on another thread. Really can’t be a bad combination of honey, cinnamon and nuts. This may be a week to skip weigh in.

I’m afraid to sample any holiday sweets because I’m afraid once I started I wouldn’t be able to stop myself. My SIL brought a giant raspberry cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory to our family dinner on Sunday. I managed to pass on it but it wasn’t easy!

A neighbor dropped off homemade cookies today. Another dropped off banana bread. If S2 doesn’t want them, they’ll go in the trash tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my latke day - been almost stalling in weight loss with no real reason but it’s slowly starting to drop again. DH did bring home another box of Mallomars…but I’m in control vs last year! I hope!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, everyone. It’s a holiday. I just had a Salted Caramel Mocha…large coffee at Starbucks. I figure I drank my lunch. Yum.

Hope everyone had a great holiday and splurged a little. I managed to hold myself to six latkes and was successful since I’ve now passed 35 pounds off. We did go to dinner after the movie Xmas eve (saw Hugo 3D - charming and magical) and shared a chocolate souffle - in the immortal words of Rachel Ray, yum!

We’re off on an adventure tomorrow - driving out to San Diego for two months to evaluate for potential future relocation (and to get me away from winter, although it’s been very temperate in the Chicago area). I’m taking my Wii Fit but intend to take nice long walks as much as possible. (Both houses we’re renting are within a few blocks of the ocean). If any of you out there would like to meet in January or February please PM. We can go hiking Torrey Pines!

Had a lovely Christmas Pud yesterday(my little straying off the path), the best ever but lost another kilo this month with my vegan fare. I love this. Everything fitting and all I have to do is eat my veggies!

Went on a 20 mile bike ride on my new bike (thanks, Santa). Then went to the deli and calorie-splurged on a Reuben. And didn’t feel even a bit guilty!

Ellemenope, I think that you broke even. Great job on the ride.

Christmas feast here was turkey, sweet potatoes and endive salad, followed by bite sized cheesecakes. We did skip one meal and only had brunch and dinner, but the 2 glasses of wine per person we had yesterday compensated the caloric deficit. :)

DH officially lost 1-2 pounds since October, and my weight stayed pretty much the same, although at the lower end of my normal weight spectrum (I must have lost the couple of pounds I gained while training for my race). Since there were 2 major feasts and many office goodie temptations within that period, I think we did well. H is officially in the “normal” BMI range. His doctor will be doing another happy dance!

I wasn’t going to weigh my self today but I decided to be honest…I lost 0.4 pounds from last week. Not bad since I indulged on Christmas eve, Christmas day, and yesterday. The jeans still fit!!

Hey, guys- I have not read through this whole thread, but thought I’d post this Q here and on the Wellness thread.

H and I are looking for A CLEANSE- hopefully (or especially LOL for the sugar and alcohol and fat-burdened post-holiday liver) to do starting after New Year’s. And a way to get off the carbs and sweets for a healthy start for 2012…
