Did I mention the Datenut Bread?

I’m not a big potato fan. I guess I’ll skip those so I can have the rest. That will make my calorie count ok, right? Right?? :)

I made the Easter baskets today. That chocolate really smells good!

To be honest…I could skip the desserts and eat the potatoes. They sound delicious. I’m not making the meal (see other thread…I’m doing the appetizers). I have no idea what we’ll be eating…but my guess is it will be delicious.

Hello All!
Back safely home from the beach. Why is spring break the quickest week of the year? Only plus side was d1 was waiting for us at home.

Stepped on the scale and was amazed that I was only a pound up. I can loose that in a week! It really showed me with good choices I can maintain this and continue losing weight. We ate out every night- being at the beach it was easy to have some nice grilled fish and veggies.

Heading to a neighbors for a lunch. She is determined we are doing an Easter egg hunt- the youngest kid is now 15 : ) Should be fun!

Hope all celebrating have a great day!

We’ve been at our second/vacation/retirement home since Wed. night. The weather has been rainy up until yesterday afternoon so not much opportunity for exercise. Did get in some kayaking yesterday (don’t know how many calories that really burns) and a good walk this a.m.

Was in the car for 5 hours on Wed. to get here, 5 hours on Fri. ('round trip visit to MIL) and will be in car for 5 hours today going back home. With little exercise and so much time spent in the car I feel like a blimp. Dread getting on scales tomorrow. Haven’t really eaten poorly, just no exercise and monthly bloat. This will be a true test of the “weight gain from travel” experiment.

Happy Easter to all.

Gibson - it’s true, you totally can eat out and eat well. And enjoy it:). Happy Easter everyone.

Happy Easter! My big question is whether to have the chocolate croissant before I walk or after?!

Before! We, runners, call it carboloading. It might motivate you to walk longer.

I still have some frozen chocolate croissants in the freezer. Guess what I’m going to have for breakfast? ;)

^^I was kidding about having junk food for breakfast. I stuck to my traditional breakfast of eggs, fruit and Greek yogurt. Since my friend and I had our pre-Easter dinner last night (she is busy with work today) and stuffed ourselves with lamb and other yummy dishes, I ate breakfast late and skipped lunch alltogether.

It has been gorgeous weather for rollerblading. No loosing though because nothing (10 miles yesterday, 6.5 rollerblading, 3.5 walking) can beat slow swimming that I was doing during vacation. Oh, well, my weight loss has to wait untill pool is open at the end of May. I cannot swim inside. At least we all enjoy great weather this spring!!
Junk food for breakfast is a great idea!! I love my chocolate as my first breakfast, then I have 2 -3 more spread over before lunch time.

Good morning all. I hope everyone survived the holiday food. I’m down 1.5 lbs so I’m happy! It was slow going and I should know better than getting on the scale more than once a week, but it did work out. I even ate Easter dinner and admit to one chocolate egg. My DS2 decided to buy baskets for my DH and I (a first), so it was staring me in the face and I gave in. Now I must send the rest away so it doesn’t tempt me.

I need to go for my run/walk. I found an app that supposedly tracks the run so I’m going to take my phone and see what happens. Should be interesting to see what it tells me!

I took the weekend off in a big way. Time to get back on track.

Me too JYM! I was hoping to get in a walk this a.m., but the schedule isn’t looking good. I haven’t lost anything in over a week, but have stayed steady. I still have 11 lbs to go, so I need to get over this hump soon!!

I don’t know how it happened, but somehow I managed to drop 1.5 lbs since Thursday even with two seders and all that matzo and butter, not to mention the chocolate coconut cake. I still maintain it was all the cooking and cleaning and setting tables combined with portion control. Or maybe the chicken soup.

Way to go Marilyn and VAmom!

Returned to Curves this morning after my week off. I use the curves system that tracks how you perform , by inserting a barcode on a key fob in each machine. At the end of the workout you can assess your performance. I am used to " getting a gold star" and this morning was chastised by a computer for my lack of attendance. Oh well! Actually made me chuckle.

Just as I thought…after 15 hours in the car over the course of 5 days, I was up 1.5 pounds this a.m. And I ran three miles yesterday before getting in the car!

No exercise today…work got in the way, darn it. Will run again tomorrow and see how long it takes the 1.5 to disappear.

Long walk yesterday, short one today.

On top of the back injury, I’ve come down with a bad cold. Bah. Maybe I should go to the “Say it Here” thread for a while.

My 1.5 lbs go up and down, I do not count this. I will count when I lose my 8lbs from vacation. They are not going anywhere. Another gorgeous day, another 6.5 miles of rollerblading and gym after. I do not know how this works, but there is unbelievable burst of energy after, not the same as walking which makes me incredibly tired.

Finally back down to the weight I was last Friday. I don’t regret taking the holiday weekend off my diet, but it had a bigger impact on the scale thatn I’d hoped. It took 3 days of bad eating to gain it, and 3 days of good eating to lose it.
