Weight Loss for Dummies

Yay for pants that fit.
Between travel, Seders and more travel my pants are tight. I will jump on the reducing sugary treats this week bandwagon.

Alrighty Marilyn and mom60 … no more Seder food for you! 20 sit-ups and 2 glasses of water, now!

(but don’t do that until after I finish this glass of vino that I just poured)

I knew I had been losing weight, but I figured it was all coming off my right leg( muscle).
But Saturday I wore pants I hadn’t put on since last summer and they were not only looser in BOTH the thighs, but in the tummy too!
:)

Also pledging to get on the post-matzo and butter bandwagon

Just in the nick of time!!! I have been away for 4 days and overindulging. I am leaving for CA in less that two weeks and will need to put on a bathing suit! I’m on that band wagon with the rest of you!! Let’s keep this thread on page one!!!

Congrats to all the skinny pants wearing hot chicks!!

Lots of motivational stories here! I’ve tried to cut down on sweets cause they’re just empty calories, but last night we were invited to friends for dessert. Oh, my…I asked for her brownie recipe cause they were so MOIST and chocolaty.

But other than that, I’m not eating sweets. Nope, just nutrient-dense foods for me. :)

And I HAVE been walking every day. Amazing what a difference warmer weather makes. And sunshine. I feel like living after all! :D

Well the scale wasn’t as awful as I thought it would be. It could certainly have been kinder, but it could have been worse.

Excellent … we are all back and on track! Keep up the healthy habits.

One day at a time!
SnowflakeVt- laughing since I did make myself do sit ups yesterday.

So far so good. Nine pounds down so far. Another ten and I start throwing out some clothes.

I just took three bags of clothes over to Goodwill (mainly summer stuff) - I took the fall/winter stuff last fall. (I gave myself a year to be sure the weight stayed off.) There were some things I loved and will miss - but am more than happy to continue to buy new! Trying hard not to head over to TJ Maxx…

Yay for those of you like Marilyn and Prozack2 who reduced your size enough to get some new clothes! I agree that after a year you should get rid of those bigger clothes … you have proven that your new habit is real. Congrats!

Another day of fairly decent eating. I am loving that strawberries are back in season. I Also discovered Chobani mini coffee yogurt cups with dark chocolate chips. 100 calorie snack.

DH brought home deep dish pizza to end Passover. Ok, a piece and a half jumped into my mouth. Really. I swear.

But, I went on a pretty challenging hike with a friend yesterday. Was not planning for it to require climbing up steep terrain with no path and walking on a pipe over a river, but we lost our trail and made the best of it. Was an interresting evening and hopefully burned a few calories to counteract the pizza that was to come.

It has been a good week. 3 lbs down from Monday. Granted most of it is water weight but I will take it. It is encouragement to keep on track.
Jim- careful out on the trail. We don’t want you lost!

Thanks, mom60. We made it back in one piece (though we had to cross some guys driveway at one point to get back to the parking lot and he yelled at us. Sheesh).

OK- confession-- went to Costco hungry the other day. Bad, BAD idea. A double pack of Nutella jumped into my cart. And the Brownie Bites thought the Nutella was lonely so joined it. :(

So now what will you do jym? My H has the theory that when there is something “bad” in the house, it is best to eat it all quickly to get rid of it. I try to explain that if you have just a bit every day, the calories won’t have such a large impact. A Costco sized package of Brownie Bites sounds about as delicious as anything I can imagine. Your plan?

mom60–Did you say Coffee yogurt with chocolate chips???

I’m on my way to Kroger right now, praying they have that flavor. :D

jym … don’t fret about the jumping Nutella. Now you’ll just have to get lost again on a hike to burn that off.

I’m trying to imagine my weekend w/o cross country skiing … I will have to hike a lot to burn as many calories as a weekend of skate skiing. Still not into a regular work day exercise routine. I’m hoping I can kick into morning exercise gear in the next week.

PAGE 10!!! Oh my goodness. Good thing I grabbed the hand of this thread just as it was about to succumb to CC oblivion.

How is everyone doing? I am on vacation and have been partaking of too much indulgence. Hoping that the scale will be merciful when I get back and that I can get back on track on Monday. Stay with me here people! I need you!!!
