Many law/ graduate schools do not like to take people from their own undergrad programs, but, thankfully, NYU is not one of the schools known for this. Which means the law school will take students from NYU’s undergrad schools (without the negative bias that can be displayed elsewhere).

With that said, you will be competing with the top students from all schools (including Ivys) for a spot at NYU Law. It was ranked really high, something like #4 ranking above Columbia Law a year or two ago. It has now dropped in ranking to #5 or 6 below Columbia Law. Though that is still not bad for national rankings. I do not have the source readily available, but if you google, you will see the rankings for law schools nationally (if you have not done so already).

Yes, my son attends CAS and he was selected for the Mock Trial team, which is excellent;
it was the National Champion Team for 2009-2010. It is traditionally ranked high in national competitions.
