Wellesley Class of 2020 RD Discussion

6 days, 23 hours, 58 minutes!

Who else missed the EE deadline for interviews so didn’t get an interview? haha

Hope everyone’s holding up well!

Personally, I’m going a bit crazy. I was not able to request my mid-year report until Wednesday of last week, which means that even though I TOLD my counselor it was due on the 12th for EE, it’s not sent. And now we have a snow day so another day without being able to send it. I just hope it’s not the difference between a maybe/unlikely or a likely/maybe.

@Larensea I don’t think they would mark you down to a maybe/unlikely but they might just automatically put you into the RD pool?

Hey guys, there are 6 days left until we find out our predictions.

I’m so nervous/anxious. Would anyone be willing to read my Wellesley 100 essay?

Ahhh, I keep alternating between wishing it were the 22nd, and wishing that the 22nd were to never

come.

@NotAMathlete I’ll totally read it! PM me yours, and I’ll PM you my essay?

@NotAMathlete I’ll read yours too! Do you want to read mine? I remember you from the Cornell ILR forum!! haha

@kolakoala Hey! Yeah, of course I’d like to read yours haha. :^)) I’ll message you!

Does anyone know what time decisions will be posted online for EE on Monday?

@md3829 I don’t know the exact time, but I am under the impression that it will come out at 5 PM.

I also checked the EE results thread, and they appeared to find out around 5 as well.

@NotAMathlete I’ll read it! PM it to me?

I feel like the EE notification is coming up so much faster than I thought it would…

@frenchtoastlover i totally agree! I applied to Wellesley in December and I thought it would feel like years until Feb 22 but omg now it’s right here! :open_mouth:

Agh, can’t believe there’s two more days! I’m exited but at the same time, I really don’t want to hear bad news.

how did time go by so fast? Ahh I feel the same way @ravenclaws

(oops totally misspelled excited) Hopefully, decisions go well for everyone but obviously, that can’t always happen. We’re all capable of doing great things, no matter where we end up:)

i might be totally wrong but from the stats I read about EE admission from last year it seems like it was close to 40%?? Which is only a little lower than ED admission and almost twice as high as RD

@ladyfrooti I’m sort of confused by the stats because you’re not technically admitted during EE? (Also, do they put the people who got possibles and then got accepted later as part of their acceptance rate?) And I’m not sure about this but they might be including the people who got an unlikely/possible during EE into the RD enrollment, which might deflate the acceptance rate for RD? (I’m probably completely wrong though haha)

(The link to the stats is here on the second page: http://www.wellesley.edu/sites/default/files/assets/departments/admission/pdf/admissionreport2012.pdf)

@ladyfrooti @ravenclaws From what I’m reading, 664 students who applied EE were admitted in the class of 2016. From those 664 students, 124 were designated “possible” when they received their EE notification.

This is the stats for class of 2019: https://www.wellesley.edu/sites/default/files/assets/departments/admission/pdf/admissionreport2015.pdf

Time for a little math! 36% admissions rate for EE: 30% received ‘likely’ prediction and were admitted, 6% received ‘possible’ prediction and were later admitted.

based on the stat that 20% of ‘possibles’ are admitted, that means around 24% of EE candidates received ‘possible’ and were then rejected/waitlisted, and around 40% of EE candidates received ‘unlikely’ prediction.
