wellesley? WELLESLEY!!

i don’t think the single sex issue is as big as it sounds. sure, there are no guys in your classes, but that does not diminish the quality of your education. there are still plenty of social opportunities to meet/date guys. if you take your education seriously, then you will be spending a lot of your time studying and hanging out with your girlfriends (as you would at a coed campus)… in the end, you will probably socialize with guys almost as much as a “wellesley girl” as you would at any other college. the big difference is that there are no guys in your classes. if that bothers you, then you should not be applying to a women’s college anyway.

my D is applying to wellesley. i attended Columbia back in the days when it was still single sex. it was no big deal, really… i realize that columbia college (25 yrs ago) and wellesley today may not be a valid comparison, but i certainly hope that my D gets into wellesley. i have the greatest respect for the school.
