Adding Krust Pizza & Bourbon Bar, 686 Main St., another fairly recent addition to the North End. Cool, woodsy decor (if you don’t mind the bench seating.) But really tasty, extremely thin, crust pizza. The bourbon is extra.
Adding Esca Restaurant & Wine Bar, 437 Main Street. to the list of white linen table cloth places on Main Street (corner of Washington Street; Luce’s is just past the traffic light on the next block.)
Just updating here with some notes from our current trip.
We are staying at the Goodwin hotel in downtown Hartford. It’s a little pricey but our room is large, well-designed, with plenty of space for my husband, me and S26. My husband has had to work a bunch on this trip and he’s had a good desk and solid WiFi. We went to Max’s Trumbull kitchen for dinner when we arrived and it was solid.
It’s about 20 mins to Wesleyan from the hotel. Little to no traffic on a weekday morning at 8 am, so that was great.
In Middletown, we returned to Perkatory for afternoon coffee and treats. We like it here. Great coffee (and I am picky) and friendly service.
For dinner, we tried Luce. It was delicious. Had the eggplant Parmesan appetizer (highly recommend), chicken medallions (lovely) and my son had pesto linguine with shrimp and my husband ate the sausage penne pasta (both gave a thumb’s up). Always happy to see a Sardinian wine on the menu (husband is Sardinian), so enjoyed that. Seems like a good spot to take future Wesleyan friends to dinner when we visit!
