You seem to be annoyed by the fact that top colleges take kids from top schools (elite privates or public targets).<<<
No. I don’t. I think the top colleges should take top students, period (But these colleges figured out all kinds of BS not to do that). But the top students from Pingry are not top students from that area. As grade inflati0n pointed out, it’s SAT average is not that impressive either.
If you tell me this http://www.pingry.k12.nj.us/about/articles/2005-jun-29-seniorawards.html, this [The Pingry School > About Pingry > News > Senior Awards Assembly](http://www.pingry.k12.nj.us/about/articles/2004-may-27-seniorawards.html) and this [The Pingry School > Students > Student News and Awards](http://www.pingry.k12.nj.us/students/awards.html) are impressive to you, then I rest my case (not that impressive to me). 5 to Wharton (not Penn) during ED. (Please tell me these are the top 5 of Pingry appled ED to Wharton and none of them want to go to HYP) It is just odd to me when first time I saw it. As other have explained, the powerfull alumni, good connections and money donate to school and these are perfectly fine with me.
