What advice have you given, that was worthwhile, What advice have you received?

The best advice I have taken is," don’t burn your bridges."

The best advice I have given, in addition to the above is, " lead a moral, ethical and honest life and you will always have your integrity."

My mom told me never to buy cheap shoes.

:)

My dad always tells me this and apparenlty it’s been passed down for a while…

“Never throw away a penny”

Not exactly life-altering but I’ve found it useful.

I buy cheap shoes all the time and don’t regret it. They seem to last just as well and are comfy. :)

Regarding shoes: MY mom told me never to buy uncomfortable shoes. She said if your feet hurt, you’ll frown and look unpleasant.

She also told me to spend more on “classics” and buy cheap for fads.

My Dad always told me to remember that I was as good as anyone else. Just that. Not better, but certainly as good. This was the first-gen immigrant version of building self-esteem, and it has worked to give me confidence for more years than I care to admit.
