while most top LAC’s will consider the fact that you’ve taken AP and IB classes, Brown will want to see that you’ve SUCCEEDED in them. You say you have a 3.9 gpa, but that your grades ‘aren’t that great’- so I’m a little confused. Also, you don’t have your SAT scores here, and as much as people don’t want to admit it- the sat’s DO COUNT. for ALOT. I know people with utterly abysmal grades but fabulous SAT scores and extracurriculars (going to a 3rd world country, etc) who get in to places like Brown.

In my opinion Brown should always be considered a reach school no matter HOW fabulous your stats are. You probably have the best chance at tufts, followed by Vassar, then Brown. If there’s anything you can do to get your grades up, do it.
