<p>GT also claims that legacy has no role on admissions, but GT has an entirely separate admissions category (called “Conditional Admission”) for legacies and children of large donors. </p>
<p>They say that a Conditional Admission (guaranteed transfer admission after a year at another college) is not the same as influencing admissions because GT still considers it a rejection; however, it’s an opportunity not afforded to non-legacies and children of non-donors, so clearly being a legacy does play a role in how the school treats you (they don’t want your parents to stop donating).</p>
