I have recently been doing some online research on weather to attend law school or not. I am finding that the majority of opinions from law students, recent grades and from people that post on CC that a majority seem well, unsatisfied with the field of law for a number of various reasons.

My question is this, is the reason most people complain about lawyers (as a profession) because the successful attorneys are busy making money so only the jaded have time to vent? Reading posts on CC the past couple days has me terrified about choosing this as a career.

Yes, I’m also considering law school but I know two people who graduated from ranked schools and they tell me they HATE it so far.

I really think its because the profession is only hedged on one thing: arguing & getting your way all the time.

Of course there are goods associated with it, like helping a client or a cause, but mostly it’s all about polarizing subjects and bickering back and forth like there’s no tomorrow.

I’d like something more professional and objective.

architects seems to have a extremely stressful job which they are not appreciated for the great responsibility they have. Has is always been this way or is it just recently that they have been faced with this ugly situation?

“Happiest occupation” is NOT the same as “highest-paid occupation”!

There are many people who chose a lower-paying career that makes them happy and that they enjoy every minute of.

On the other hand, I know of some very wealthy people who do nothing but complain how miserable their job is, how “broke” they are, etc. Well, they chose their careers themselves, so they have nobody else to blame, and they apparently are bad at spending wisely! I don’t have much sympathy for them.

Please - do what you like and find rewarding - don’t just choose an occupation to impress your neighbors!

I think firefighters and life guards may be the happiest. Librarians? Jewelers? Watch or shoe repair? Idk. Whatever you are good at and pays well enough.

^omg, I’m a lifeguard and it is seriously the best job in the world! Haha, I went to work today on my day off just to hang around for fun but it’s a big resort so we all do more than just lifeguard and the people I work with are the best employees/friends ever.
