An 8th grade student wants to have some one helping him to become a brain surgeon and med school.
Cilantro! That’s fun to say! Ssssssilaaaantrooww!
I love cilantro. Threads where people say it tastes like soap arouse pity in me, not irritation. B-)
Soapy good, to me.
Cilantro tastes wonderful in Vietnamese Pho.
Un Pho Gettable.
Threads that get closed while you are in the middle of writing a well thought out response!
(edited to add: not complaining that the thread got closed, it needed to, I wish it would have stayed open 30 seconds longer!)
Yeah, I hate closing threads. It really feels like whatever we do, it’s not right!
Threads in which a PERSON (staying in TOS guidelines) tells a female student she shouldn’t go into engineering because women don’t do as well as men in the field. I know who I need to add to my “Ignore” list!
Yes, that was obnoxious.
I must have missed that one, I was thinking of the one that pretty much ended with 'It’s not fair other people get to do things and I don’t! and don’t tell me life’s not fair because I don’t want to hear it!!!" thread. I think I’m going to add that OP to my ignore list too. As a former special ed teacher I really wanted to try to help, sometimes you just can’t get past someone’s ingrained entitled attitude, and at some point PELL/FA does run out. You have a finite time to reach your goal, if you can’t do it before the money runs out then where will you be?
You can pretty much guarantee that I will close that type of thread. Any user that deigns to dictate what can and cannot be said will soon face my wrath.
Threads in which the OP creates a second account to respond in the face of unanimous advice from other users. Really, you don’t think we can figure that out??
Threads in which posters insist on doing things like calling opinions aired by students in a thread or two on CC a “valid sample of…‘tippy top’ students’” nationally, and thus valid data upon which we should draw conclusions about top-student preferences nationally (and then double—nay, triple—down on the claim when called on its statistical incoherence). 8-|
The “I haven’t studied for the ‘fill in the blank’ SAT Subject Test, should I take it tomorrow?” :))
@MaineLonghorn, I suspected as much. I always find that to be a little mind boggling.
Oh, please. Everyone knows it’s that stuff they put in candles to keep bugs away. Or that French car company.
“Threads in which a PERSON (staying in TOS guidelines) tells a female student she shouldn’t go into engineering because women don’t do as well as men in the field. I know who I need to add to my “Ignore” list!”
I need to find that one!
It’s odd when a poster asks for advice and then refuses to provide the relevant information.
Threads with abbreviations. There are many OU colleges. There are a couple of UW. Come on…just say the name.
^IKR?
