@dfbdfb True, and something I’m aware of since DS plans to major in physics. But, there are very few students here who plan to major in the “traditional” sciences. It seems like there are more biomedical engineering or chemical engineering majors than biology or chemistry. He is the only one with physics major plans that we know of this year. He has a couple math competition friends who want straight math with no applications whatsoever, but there are lots more kids with Econ major plans than Math.
Also, DS’s most advanced mathy friend took a Calc BC equivalent in 9th grade. I think he took Real Analysis and Complex Analysis this year. I’d imagine there would be few LACs with enough math after that for him to take for 4 years.
