You have used 2 years of financial aid at your community college but only have 16 units? Hopefully you mean that you have additional units that do not apply to your major but which will transfer as elective credit. If you really are only transferring 16 units after 2 years of financial aid, I advise you to meet with a financial aid advisor to be sure you can meet SAP (if you don’t know what SAP is, please follow the link I provided on your financial aid forum post). If you took less than a full schedule (<12 units) while receiving financial aid, some of those semesters may only count as .5 SAP semesters.

More notes:

-Please see your thread on the financial aid forum - I posted some information about how you MIGHT qualify for one additional semester of financial aid.

-A drawback to the plan to take more than 18 units per semester is that flat rate tuition covers up to 18 units. Additional units are $1,536 each, so taking 20 units a semester would cost an additional $3,072/semester ($6,144/year) which would not be covered in financial aid calculations - those costs would be 100% out-of-pocket. There is an Academic Achievement Award available for continuing students to cover the extra 2 units per semester [USC Academic Achievement Award | Undergraduate Education](http://undergrad.usc.edu/renaissance/achievement_award.html) , so if you feel you may qualify in the future it would be worth it to keep your grades (way) up.

-If you are only transferring 16 units, I would suggest obtaining pre-approval (available on OASIS) to take additional community college units for GEs during the summer. Do NOT request financial aid for those units… At $46/per unit at California Community Colleges, taking 9 units over the summer would cost $414. It would be money well-spent. You may transfer up to 64 units total, but once you matriculate to USC ALL must be pre-approved.

-From the start at USC, visit your USC academic counselor regularly. You will need full schedules where ALL of your courses count.
