FWIW my H is an OB-gyn. He will not do these procedures for cosmetic reasons, only in the case of an actual medical need / deformity of sorts. He’s only done a handful of these. He deplores the trend and says that there is just a lot of natural variation that’s all well within normal.
I doubt that’s the main reason people fix their faces. We want to look nice period. And it not for the sake of other people. Most of the time it’s for our own satisfaction. In that regard, I don’t think there’s any difference. You don’t like the way you look so fix it. I am assuming here. Only prostitutes do it is a bit like saying you are a slut if you put on (heavy) makeup. For the record, I didn’t do any procedure to my body myself not even a piercing.
Iglooo, this procedure has the possibility to negatively impact sexual satisfaction and cause problems. You’re playing with some very delicate tissue. And the woman herself doesn’t really “see” the results unless she’s particularly double jointed :-). It’s something done because of how someone perceives they will look in the eyes of men, not for oneself. It’s not at all analogous to a nose job, or even a breast job. This is corrrecting something that isnt objectively “wrong” or defective.
PG, as I said before I am saying assuming it’s medically safe. If not, there’s no reason to do it. I would imagine this can be done safely if not today tomorrow when more resaerch is done. Medical safety is a low bar that ANY procedure should clear.
