^ Killer.
I’m also terrible with names. It doesn’t help that when I was growing up in Russia there were normally just a couple dozen or so common names for each gender, not an infinite variety like in the U.S. I’m also bad at remembering faces, general social skills, talking and writing. This makes for seriously limited social life. However, I’m good at math
If my life depended on it, I can’t snap my fingers.
Has anyone mentioned whistling? Violin vibrato? Harmonica?
85. :)
Garcias.
Lake Placid has part of the Olympic bobsled run open to the public. Winter only though.
I like the bobsled virtual experience. Fun and I don’t land in the hospital.
I went on the Lake Placid bobsled in the summer just a few years ago. They have some kind of wheels on the sled. They give you a helmet and you sit behind a teenager who does the steering. It’s really fast! I think it’s an old run, not the one they use now in the winter.
@STEM2017 - patience. Plan on the first one being bad, then take your time.
Me- can’t dance, very uncoordinated, can’t sing (my grandson covers his ears) and can’t draw. However, I can appreciate music, coordinated people and art.
Terrible at ball sports. I can’t even stand alone on the court and put a basketball through the hoop.
Can’t dance to save my life!
Nope, can’t whistle or snap. In fact snapping drives me crazy.
I’m terrible at sticking with my plan to exercise regularly, especially when work gets a little hectic, the weather gets too cold, or when ice cream is involved.
Anything remotely athletic. PE teacher flunked me for not being able to do gymnastics moves, even though I humiliated myself in front of the entire sixth grade (and broke my bra) trying to do it.
Overcommitting – at work, at home, to myself. It is extremely difficult for me to say No.
Along the same lines, arguing or asserting myself.
Looking pulled together. I never have “the look” that so many can don so effortlessly (or at least know how to make it work).
OTOH, I’m great with details, names, logistics, organizational skills; I’m handy, creative, can carry a tune, assemble furniture, paint the house, sew, embroider, photograph and other assorted hobbies.
I murder plants. My face is probably on the wall of every nursery in the country. I’m only marginally better at tending children.
I have the worst trouble determining what size Tupperware container the leftovers will fit in. I never get it right. My husband is excellent at it though so I generally let him do it or I pick one that’s way too big.
^Sounds like a good way to get out of post-meal cleanup.
I’m pretty bad at standing up in front of people and speaking, especially when I’m unsure of the topic. I am fine talking at an individuall level, and sitting around a table and speaking, but I get very nervous and worry that I will get asked a question I don’t know the answer to or some other goofy thing. When I’m Nervous I tend to start speaking quickly also. I think I’ve surprised people with how bad I am, given I’m a fairly articulate outgoing person normally.
Oh yeah, plants. Also clueless about and stink at keeping them alive. My husband used to joke that I had to keep a plant alive for a year before I could have a child. I told him if plants cried when they need food and water I might be able to raise a plant too.
Take much less time to list the things I’m good at but the one thing I wish I was better at is patiently listening to my wife.
