I last saw my Frye boots 15 years ago when a niece wore them to a family reunion, along with my matching bag. I told her, “I used to have a bag just like that” and she responded, “this is your bag, Aunt” and pulled up her jeans to show me the boots.
If she still has them, they are almost 50 years old. Her daughter is three. Wonder if she’ll have the same size feet.
My oldest purse belonged to my grandmother. It’s probably 1940s. I used to have the matching shoes, but I suspect my sister borrowed them sometime back. Like the Frye boots.
I still remember my first Frye boots too, and when I wear my “new” ones I almost always think of my old ones.
I have looked and and thought about Frye bags, especially during Nordstrom anniversary sale, but so far haven’t purchased any. I have a couple of pairs of Frye flats I really like.
I loved my Frye boots but they would not fit now or be comfortable.
I have beaded bag of my mom’s that I take to wedding.s The problem is the extra shoes… I can’t dance or even walk around in the flipflops or socks that are passed out these days. I have a little pair of flats and so have ended up with a larger bag that I just put under the table. I too need my glasses and sunglasses for most weddings, phone, etc.
“I can’t dance or even walk around in the flipflops or socks that are passed out these days” - Ha, never heard of that being done… I learn so many things in Parent Cafe
