Hi, I’m an incoming sophomore. I know im a little young(:, but UC Irvine is my DREAM school, so i want to do as much as i can to up my chances of getting in. I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.4167 and a non-weighted GPA of 3.9167 (my only B was in PE -_-), and I am class rank 4 (because of PE… ughhh), im not sporty at all so no sports, but I am in ASB and Red Cross. I’m preparing for the PSAT during this summer.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions as to anything else I should do to be UCI-bound?And while you’re at it, any suggestions for preparing for the PSAT? (:

thanks!

Well your GPA is really good so keep up those grades. Maybe join another club or two, and I assume you mean the SAT, not the PSAT? I didn’t do so hot on the SAT so I took the ACT.

ya, im hoping to join CSF next year and maybe key club? (: and im taking the PSAT this year for like practice for the real SAT. thanks!

Just make sure you graduate in the top 3% of your class. That way you get an ELC # and guaranteed acceptance to UCI

Wait, you’re at the top 4 in terms of GPA in your class?

Actually, ELC is top 9% now.

Anyway, penguinnn, you look like you have no problem in getting in as long as your SAT isnt too low.

You’re correct that ELC is now top 9%, but it no longer means guaranteed admission to UCI/SB/ Davis. I can’t remember the exact details but they dramatically changed the way it works.

Just keep it up. Keep up your grades, and keep busy with extra-curriculars.

I don’t remember preparing for the PSAT… I just took it and that was it.

hey guys,
so if I just assume the worst and it’s 3 percent, there are 774 people in my class, so it’s just 3% times 774 which is ~23. that means as long as I stay in the top 23 Im automatically accepted into uci!?!?!?
