<p>well I like what the OP did! I’m the same way, I don’t care about appearances either. Just want to be friends with people who are good friends. I would have called him a jerk too especially because of the situation. It would have been different if he told you in private, showing he had some concern for their feelings, but the fact that they could hear him is just plain rude.</p>
<p>If he would have told you that on the side, I would have just been like do you think that’s a little unfair, you don’t even know them. And thanked him for the compliment maybe…</p>
