I once had a security agent in France go through my hand luggage. I had 2 wallets, one with American money and one with euros and both had a lot of change. He picked out the wallet with the euros and took it out. Turned out he wanted change for the vending machine! I gave him change for a 10 euro bill and was waived through.

*Several times when I went through airports in Spain and asked why they inspected my lipstick case, and the inspector said, Americans are always trying to get through with illegal drugs. *

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to buy your drugs once you get there?

I sometimes travel with medication that is in disposable syringes with a needles on them. No one has ever mentioned it, isn’t that strange? It needs to be packed with ice so you would think those frozen gel packs would be noticed too but they haven’t been.

A few years ago I was flying home from Paris and had 2 jars of preserves in my carry-on – white peach and fig. For some inexplicable reason the security agent confiscated the fig preserves but not the peach preserves. He mumbled something in French but I had no idea what he said. I’m assuming he liked figs but not peaches. ;)
