<p>They’re looking for students to fill that position. It’s pretty much the same type of thing I (and many of my friends) did while in undergrad to help pay the bills while getting some experience within our field.</p>
<p>How much did you get paid for your work study jobs?</p>
<p>I got paid more than that as a receptionist at my on campus job. To have someone running complex scientific aparati and analyzing data and pay them the same as the guy flipping burgers in cafeteria is obnoxious and should tell you where the science field is heading.</p>
<p>That sucks. Good thing I live in Jersey. And very close to NY. At least employment here has somewhat better wages than a majority of the country. Probably because I live near the financial hub of the world. But it is indeed disturbing to see these kinds of wages. Reform needs to be done for sure, to set a more stable and decent wage. Sporadic wages is never a good sign of anything.</p>
