We use the shams while sleeping but not against our heads. When we go to bed, we move the decorative shame pillow behind the ones in regular pillow cases. We have a wooden headboard and since we both read in bed, we need those extra pillows for comfort. We each have three pillows (two king and one regular that we leave on bed while sleeping. Only have one truly decorative “for show” pillow on our bed that does not have any function other than to make my bed look nice.
Mr. B and I both use 3 king sized pillows each.
they are not decorative pillows because they are in regular pillowcases. I do not think of shams as “decorative pillows.” To me, decorative pillows are those small things optionally covered in bling that cost a fortune each and have to be bought separately from the bed set.
We have two king pillows in shams that do not match-but do coordinate with-our bedding. We don’t sleep on them. They go on the upholstered bench at the foot of our bed with the two small throw pillows every night. So I guess since they serve no real function, they are decorative pillows in our case.
None although had a couple decades okay that came with a set when that was a thing . My sister is into numerous decorative pillows on the guest bed and I remove them when I visit . Any decorative pillows are promptly removed on hotel beds.
No decorative pillows on our bed.
This afternoon, our beagle ate the decorative pillow that was on the living roof sofa. She had previously eaten two others that were in the family room.
I will not be making any more of them.
4 king pillows (the two we sleep on and two that have shams that match my coverlet), 3 decorative pillows (all different fabrics, two squares, one smallish rectangle), faux fur throw thingie that goes across the foot of the bed.
Dh dislikes decorative, so I always remove the “evil pillows” before bedtime. The two shammed ones and the three decorative ones get piled on top of our dresser. I am also the one who makes the bed every day. I don’t mind at all. He does the laundry.
Bed is final complete as of today. I just love it. We ended up doing 2 king shams that match the duvet and one longer light taupe pillow that sits in front of them. Here is my duvet. It’s prettier in person, looks like a watercolor painting. Taupe, grey and white. Much lighter IRL. So 3 deco pillows down from 6. I’m happy with that. The bed looks very complete.

@conmama, lol you got your way.
Good choice! Enjoy your new look.
@Nrdsb4 , I did!! It was probably my email I sent to him before he came home telling him how it was gorgeous and I loved it. Or he simply agreed I was right! Haha! He didn’t put up a fight.
