What did you get?

SeaKid011 what state are you in? KP has admission field reps all over that would be glad to assist you. By all means contact your field representative, he/she can help you through the process:

[United States Merchant Marine Academy](http://www.usmma.edu/admissions/reps/default.htm)

As stated earlier, KP looks at the overall student. They want a candidate that has strong math/science background. My son took college english and physics in high school. He was allowed to exempt english this trimester. He decided to take physics, because in the engineering studies, the more science/math you take the better off you will be in the long run. Try to bring up your GPA if possible. I’ve known kids to get appointments with 3.3 but the higher you can make it the better. Again, it also depends on your state. If you are from a highly competative state like, California, New York, Virginia, Maryland, etc you needed a stronger GPA and SAT’s than if you were from Nebraska or a state that does not have a lot of competition.

As soon as applications for the class of 2013 open…apply. That way you can get your DoDMERB physical scheduled and out of the way.
