<p>…they rule the roost in high school, they get preferential admissions into top flight schools and, after college graduation many benefit from strong alumni support for athlete grads. They really don’t need additional kind words–trust me, they are already being lionized and if they’ve got anything at all on the ball, they’ll do just fine after graduation. (Unfortunately, lots of the recruited athletes in the male helmet sports don’t have much on the ball and basically take up space for 4 years that could have been occupied by a kid that was there to learn.)</p>
