What do you buy at Costco?

When I buy the naan, I put it in the freezer and just pull out a piece at a time - one piece is big enough to share!

@xiggi, I looked at our US Costco Christmas special email, acoustic guitar $99 USD, I also got a Costco UK email, acoustic guitar L129, so $200USD, double in price if I bought a guitar in the UK versus carrying it on a plane back from the US ;)

Costco in the UK sells boxes of Flake bars and Smarties. A friend brings them for me every year when she comes.

There are five Costco stores within driving distance of my house. Around the holidays I go to a few because they carry different things. They aren’t just different from state to state or in different countries.

I got THE best diet soda at Costcos in CT and OH a few summers ago…really good. They carry a couple of flavors at Trader Joes too. I’ve never seen it at any Costco since:(

Our local Costco was selling a Santa Ema Cabernet/Merlot blend for $2.49 per bottle! We bought a case for $30. Haven’t tasted it yet but friend describes it as “swillable.” I’ll take that for $2.49

dh buys shirts and slacks

My local Costco sells Christmas Trees (6-8 foot Fraser Fur for $28.99)

I also bought my Christmas wreath there last week. I think it was around $16.

I buy the Kirkland brand whole bean coffee, about $11 for 2 lbs of the Colombian roast. I tried their Guatemala beans the last time there and it’s pretty good. A slightly darker roast than the Colombian.

I bought their bold k-cups yesterday. Interesting that the 100 count box, in the store, was cheaper than the 200 count box, on line.

Did anyone else get one of the free ‘Fabulous Food - the Costco Way’ cookbooks? They were handing them out at the exit a few days ago. Actually contains some rather interesting and healthy recipes.

I got one of their cookbooks a few years ago. Wonder if its the same or has been updated with current items sold at costco? (<<< off to make a cup of Pacific Bold coffee in my cheap Keurig I got with Kohls cash at what comes out to 34.9 cents a cup>>>)

I thought they gave those cookbooks away on Black Friday and I forgot to go.

my inlaws get those cookbooks every year, so I am assuming they are different.
They get extras for some reason.

I just had an interesting good/bad experience with Costco. I bought a TV there well over a year ago, it broke. H tried to get it fixed though the Costco warranty and had a terrible experience with that process. They sent out a completely incompetent repairman who couldn’t seem to keep an appointment, he finally came, twice, and actually managed to make the TV worse. That’s the bad. H said, what can we lose, we still have the box, I’m going to call the manager at the store. He called the store manager, gave him the saga, and manager said bring the TV back and we’ll give you a refund. That’s the GREAT! H wanted a certain TV they didn’t have in the store so he ordered it on Costco online with free shipping - good, right? Wrong. Shipping company called and scheduled delivery, no one showed up. Next day they were closed, two days later we just cancelled that order to get another refund. Another two days or so, but finally got the refund - good. Went and got a new tv that the store had in stock. Yay! Two weeks without a tv, but now we’re happy with a new tv that was less than the original so we actually made money on the deal. GREAT!!! Moral of the store - love our local Costco store, Costco online stinks. Costco concierge is pretty bad too. Keep the box!

PS: Delivery company called ELEVEN days later and tried to schedule another delivery. H told them we already cancelled the order, got a refund, and had a new TV.

I received one of the Costco cookbooks when I went 2 weeks ago, and I have made 2 of the recipes already! I did the fish stick tacos and the ramen chicken salad. They were really good.

<<<going to="" check="" in="" the="" garage="" see="" if="" our="" tv="" box="" is="" still="" there="">>>. If you have the receipt do you need the box?</going>

As an aside- They also say that if you purchased it with a costco Amex you get an extra year warrantee so we always do that with big purchases at costco.

I thought the extra year came with buying it at Costco, but we did use our Costco AmEx, but we also bought the extended warranty. From what I read online, the manufacturer warranty is good, the extended warranty company is very good, the dark hole we fell in was the Costco extra year warranty - terrible.

We had both the box and the receipt - I don’t think they would have taken it back if we didn’t have the box. I had actually wrapped it in paper and was using it as a room divider, I’ll probably do the same thing with the new box.

As I understand it, there is a warranty first directly with Costco, and an extra year with the Costco Amex.

Fortunately they don’t require the box

Don’t have a costco subscription myself but my roommate does so I go with him. So far, mostly nuts, coke, granola bars. None of the frozen stuff looks nice, and I don’t do enough cooking of anything to justify buying in bulk.
