Have to admit I don’t like the rotisserie chickens. Way too salty. BJ’s chickens are much better.
Also disappointed with the rotisserie chicken salad, store made with leftover chickens. Tried it recently as impulse buy. Ironically it wasn’t too salty, just too chunky and had little flavor.
I get frozen chicken cutlets all the time. My store (actually two nearby) used to carry Perdue select size fillets, which are good and convenient. Last year they switched to Wayne Farms, which was awful Too much water, rubbery texture, poorly trimmed. Last trip I found they went back to Perdue. They must have heard the complaints.
@Happy2Help - I did! I read the whole thread. I really like the idea of getting the mattress from Costco bc of the return policy. People largely seem to like Sleep Number and Tempurpedic but the ones who don’t REALLY don’t! I will go check out the Novaform Serafina now. Thank you!
@vandygrad87 - I just discovered that the Serta 12" I purchased at Sam’s $499/queen is made by the same company as the Novaform 14" at Costco for $799/queen. They are both made by Innocor Comfort. Both have the 20 year warranty return to the company or back to Sam’s/Costco. You can’t go wrong either way! BTW these two were both rated the same overall score of 78 on Consumer Reports with very minor differences.
Just got our first Costco rebate on the new credit card. $545 . Wow. Just the two of us, minimal gas needed, we do eat out on the credit card and do charge everything on it ( including groceries, etc ).
We have two Citi cards on our Costco account and the checks came a month apart for some reason. Mine was first, for about $135 and we were disappointed. Then H’s came - for $369! I guess we’ve been using those cards!
He went to Costco, bought a bag of avocados and left with the extra cash.
Me too! Our rebate has been over $1,000, so we get a check instead of crispy bills. My logic: if I pay for my purchases with anything other than that Visa, I am missing out on my Visa rebate.
We also got a hefty rebate check. Previously our Costco American Express was a business card and we didn’t get a rebate from the credit card but did for the executive membership. Instead we got points through the Membership Rewards program with American Express. Before the card switch I used those accumulated points and moved them to Flying Blue and got two business class tickets to Europe.
This week at Costco I bought delicious organic strawberries. I also find they have the best prices on bananas. I give half the bunch to my D.
We charge on our other Visa cards and get a check when the balance gets to be a few hundred several times/year, at our request. That check can be cashed or deposited anywhere, unlike the one for the Costco Visa which has to be cashed or spent at Costco.
Not a purchase but consistently, the poor vitamix demo people get complete nut jobs talking their ears off, because the demos people are miked to a speaker, you only hear one site of the conversation, which really adds to the hilarity. I dunno if it is local. No nut jobs buy a vitamix LOL.
I just stocked up on larger sized glass jars of freeze-dried herbs! They were new to our Costco and cost just a bit more than the skinny jars sold at the grocery store. Nice!
I got some nice towels and a new oversize bathroom bath mat at Costco last week. I had been thinking of changing the accent color and scooped these up. Really nice towels for $7.00 each and the bathmat was ( I think) $14.00, I also got the matching pack of hand towels and wash cloths. I hate how department stores charge and arm and a leg for washcloths compared to towels, but this whole shebang was well priced.
Yes, I was at Costco yesterday trying to ignore the voice of the Vitamix lady…her and one sample guy who ANNOYS everyone who walks by trying to draw you in to his sample - works the opposite for me - I don’t care what he has, I’m not trying it when he’s calling me out loudly in the store!
Was looking to restock my coffee beans. Been buying the Peets Major Dickason’s Blend, but saw the Kirkland Rwandan dark roast 3 lb bag. Did a quick google for reviews and saw it was highly rated on Amazon. Picked it up to try.
My kids refer to the sample people as “motion activated”. They sort of stand there and then when you get near them start the spiel. Actually, where we live they often start talking after you walk past. Sort of delayed-motion-activated.
This obnoxious sample person at our store will literally call you out from across the aisle “free samples today to all ladies with yellow shirts - hey, that’s you over there how about a sample?” “You with the brown hair and red shoes, free (whatever) just for you today”. I don’t care if he’s giving away whole lobsters I’m not feeding into that!
Wow, our sample people never do that and I would also find that extremely off-putting. Singling out people would really be unappreciated btbiretty much everyone I know! They are looking for new hires and advertise they pay $13/hr. Seems like a tough job, where you have to be on your feet for so long and handing out stuff that varies all the time.
