What do you do to relax or de-stress?

I try wine & hot tub at home, but what really seems to work is heading to my beach house, even for just an hour, even in the winter.

Everyday I walk my dog on a 700 acre undeveloped land with logging roads on it, lovely no matter what the weather, though better with sun! (or snow!)
Read a book
Read CC
Yoga
Sauna
Walk on the beach, watch the bald eagles and herons and smile.
Deep tissue massage
Yak with my sister

Yoga, running, chocolate, and reruns of Law and Order. :-)

I haven’t seen Law and Order in a long time (stopped watching TV a few years ago). I wonder if it’s available on Hulu or something.

Get outside. Nature, even if it is just my neighbor’s camellias, always does wonders.

Oh yes - and practice gratitude. Remembering what there is to be thankful for. When I desperately wanted one thing that, at the time, I simply could not have, a very wise person told me simply ‘to appreciate every little thing’. It really does help.

Oh, wanted to add…

jimmy Fallon…makes me smile every time…thank goodness for TIVO

To relax, I just come home. I need to entertain for work sometimes, and I would just cancel if I could.

When I get home, I have a glass of wine, turn on the American TV (very comforting to me), get on my laptop (CC, FB, and emails), and maybe a massage at home.

Cat on lap, book in hand.

Walk, bake, cook, glass of wine, a book. Contemplate gratitude. Read Melody Beattie’s blog, Living in the Mystery.

Swim and bird watch, sometimes at the same time.

Garden. Or look at garden with cat on lap or cat on lap, book in hand. In winter, look at rose catalogs, cat on lap.
