I get an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach when I hear people say they have a pit in their stomach and it’s making them feel awful.

SLAC in my world is a medical term which stands for Scapho-Lunate Advanced Collapse so I guess I will never see that as a college

Yes, it is also used for “Selective Liberal Arts College” so it indicates prestige and eliteness and exclusivity as well.

It’s for people who want to indicate that their, or their kid’s, LAC is not just ANY LAC, but a SELECTIVE LAC, not like those OTHER LACs which allow just ANYBODY to attend. THEIR (or their kid’s) LAC is SELECTIVE.

It’s the LAC version of “T-20”, for the prestige obsessed, since T-20 is generally used for research universities. By “prestige obsessed” I don’t just mean parents and students, but also faculty.
