What do you hate....that almost everyone else loves

And most people love that, HImom… ^^^^

They must–the mall allows it and it’s getting more and more full of dogs. The security guards keep folks from napping at the mall but do and say nothing about the many, many dogs brought into the mall all the time, even when they start barking!

Add me to the list about office parties. In theory they wouldn’t be that bad if they did what they were supposed to, bring people together to talk and celebrate. I have done some holiday parties that were fun, my second job when I first joined them used to do the holiday party on one of the Spirit of New York boats, and that was fun (you could get away from the bs and go up on deck, and NY at night on the water is kind of nice). I hate the more formal office parties, where people are supposed to dress up formally and end up acting like a bunch of upper class English people, all right and proper and prim (meanwhile people are often sloshed out of their minds and also likely some people are doing inappropriate things, like finding the CEO of the company in a restroom with another employees wife…). The worse part for me is that most of the parties I have gone to, they decide to make it like a nightclub with music playing at 130 DB (yes, folks, I measured it with a phone app), and you literally can’t talk without getting your throat blown out, I have asked about it and the standard line I get is “well, the younger employees like that kind of thing”, but to be honest I talk to the young’uns and they don’t like it, either.

Tattoos.

Yeah, I hate tattoos too, but I’m not convinced that most people love them. Many, perhaps.

There are things that I truly hate–I have a huge snake phobia–but I don’t think most people love them.

Yea, I REALLY dislike tattoos but am not convinced MOST people love them. I also dislike multiple piercings but again am not convinced that MOST people love them.

Narcissus. Man, those flowes smell like cat pee to me.

Speaking of flowers, I strongly dislike hydrangeas and butterfly bushes. Can’t explain why.

Juniper bushes. To me, they really smell like cat pee.

Nature - I HATE being in nature. I can’t stand going to the country, the woods, walking on the beach or anything that is not concrete or asphalt. More so, I can’t stand being barefoot.

When we moved to the suburbs,my neighbor told me I’d like it better if I gardened. H looked at her and said “Have you met my wife?”

I can’t stand flowers, either, think they are a colossal waste of money, time and effort.

Hiking

Dang…life without nature (and hiking) barely seems worth living to me. :frowning: I crave it.

Religion.
People who use religion as an excuse to be “against” other people, to limit people’s rights (like right-to-lifers and people who suppress women’s rights in Africa, the Middle East, and even the USA), and to kill them (current terrorism in the name of Islam but also the Christian Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust).

Discipline-oriented parenting. Parents who believe it is good parenting to hit their children, to assert authority just for the sake of control (“because I said so”), and to let their babies “cry it out.”

Way down the list in importance from the above, but I am not a fan of beauty parlors, manicures, massage. And I am afraid of Costco, although I like the stuff my spouse brings home from Costco when shopping without me.

Gardening or working in the yard. Except pulling weeds. I like to pull weeds.

I don’t like just sunbathing at the beach. Can’t read in that light. Being there, great. Just laying out, no. Dinner, a walk, yup.

http://www.theharrispoll.com/health-and-life/Tattoo_Takeover.html indicates that 29% of (presumably adult) Americans have tattoos. For Millenials, the percentage is 47%. No breakdown by state was given, though it would not be surprising if Hawaii were higher than average in this respect.

Science fiction in any or all forms.
Rap “music”
The Kardashians

Also hate those 3, @TrixieAnn but I think we are not alone. Many can’t stand them.
