I like wildlife in Florida. CA doesn’t have manatees, ospreys,… Florida is wilder. I hate Miami airport tho. Who designed that airport?
Marvin, I lived in LA almost 2 years, and I happily returned to SE FL. The traffic in LA and the parking were a daily strain. Housing costs are far less $$$ here in FL. I miss the hills and skiing that I had easily available in New ENgland, but I take walks weekly in parks and around the Everglades. I like going in the ocean every Sunday in the summer.
CA and FL are totally different imo. Milder winter may be the only thing in common. Since we have CA, we don’t need to go to FL doesn’t make sense to me.
CA does not have Everglades, butterfly museums, Kennedy Space Center, Cuban sandwiches and coffee, and especially warm ocean water that my kids and I like.
Love coastal southern CA. Ever see the herons flying? Or the grunion running? Nighttime on a pier? Know how close the rustic mountain areas are or what it’s like to drive through a canyon or arroyo that played a part in settler history? Further north, Big Sur? Or the farm country?
What I hate, but most probably do, is the grafitti. And how the huge, old ranches are being cut up for housing developments. Sure, traffic is lousy, but the ocean, the ocean.
Hate humidity. Kinda stuck with an invite to FL this winter, lol. Going to work it around a trip to SF and down the coast.
Clams, mussels…just ew. Everyone I know adores them.
Oh, @shellz, I agree sooooooo much. As I said in an earlier post – I can’t stand anything that lives in the water. Anything. Flounder, octopus, seaweed, lobster, oysters. Can’t stand that fishy taste.
For me, can’t handle anything formerly alive that comes in its original form. So filets are ok, not whole fish or head-on shrimp, etc.
Much odder: on another thread, a poster mentioned dust pans. I hate them, lol. Creepy dirty, to me. Used to hide them from DH, who really liked them. No, not an obsessive sort.
No wonder you can’t eat anything with a shell on it, @shellz.
Late to this thread but here goes -
Coconut
Curry
Coconut curry - ugh!
Starbucks coffee- tastes burnt to me
Broadway shows - all of them!
Any play anywhere at any time
Times Square
Disney world (really, they are the same now)
Shopping in malls
Babies and small children are fine. Parents taking them to movies/plays/concerts can be OK (I did it and mine was an angel No, really! Happy as long as she got to cuddle.)
Not fine:
Parents not removing noisy babies and children from public events the very second they start disrupting . I guess no one likes it , but golly, it does happen all the time! I don’t get it.
People shining lights to read programs in the darkened theatre during ballets, plays, concerts… Do they imagine it’s not distracting just because they point the light downward?
People in audiences using electronic devices during these events. (I have heard performers say they can see the sea of light from phones reflected in the faces of the audience. Ugh. What have we become? )
Wedding websites of the couple. Gofundme type arrangements to fund the wedding or honeymoon.

I think there was a tacky wedding thread on here last year. It was pretty funny!
James Bond movies!
Bruce Springsteen… something about his voice grates on me. Tried to like him but…
Including plants and fungi (e.g. fruits, vegetables, and mushrooms)?
I guess you are not a fan of those Chinese restaurants where your dinner is swimming in the aquarium right up until you order it. Or the whole roast turkey that is traditionally served at Thanksgiving.
Shopping as entertainment. Or just shopping.
Ucb, I meant formerly alive as in mobile. Veggies, mushrooms, etc, are fine. Lol.
I used to work with a multicultural group that would joke to count the fish in the aquarium as we came in and then left. Not funny. No, I won’t cook lobster or crabs or order them whole. Kind of a sissy about that. I’ve been to weddings with the whole pig on the spit. Uncomfy.
Pretty much everything the OP listed. Except sometimes I like watching sports on TV (something big–the Olympics, the World Cup final, or if the Royals are in the World Series. . .)
I don’t like going to movies. Too Loud. Same thing with concerts. Hate crowds.
Don’t like dining out. Take out/fast food is OK, but I cannot enjoy fine dining. I just can’t stop myself from thinking how little I’m getting for my money and how many groceries/trips through the burger drive-thru I could’ve had for the same price. Or I could’ve donated that $ to starving children in developing countries. I can barely stand it if someone else is paying, but it still feels wrong to spend $50-$100+ for one meal.
Downhill skiing? Tried it once. Terrifying. Skydiving? My heart would stop. Polar Bear Plunge? Never. Just driving on the highway gives me chest pain.
Oh, yeah. And dogs. I don’t like dogs. I can pretend to like dogs. I can pet them and say how cute they are. I have dog-sat for friends a few times. Nope. Never gonna like them. Way too stinky and needy. Even if your dog just had a bath, it still smells like a dog.
Mayonnaise and anything made with the awful stuff.
