My mom always disliked King & I – said it was very sad how “civilization” destroyed the nice king and his country (tho she liked most of the songs and actors/actresses). She also hated how Sandy was corrupted by the end of Grease in her view. I honestly thought she was much more attractive before she decided to punk-out.
Food trucks. They are all over Austin, but I just don’t get the fascination with buying food and sitting at a table in the middle of a parking lot, usually next to some major intersection with cars whizzing by.
coffee
Designer anything (anything with a label on it)
^^ I never buy any clothing item that has the company logo spread out all over the item. I am not a billboard for their company!
^^ Agree, especially on purses and shirts which can be tough to avoid.
I adopted the IOC’s approach: one small logo is ok. A trademark feature (checkered patterns, red soles, etc.) is ok. A giant logo on the most prominent spot is not ok. A C or a GG all over my purse - no thanks.
Gilead
A Confederacy of Dunces
Absolutely can’t stand Bath and Body works products and scents
@intparent Get outta here with the not liking Confederacy of Dunces! Anyway, I thought of one…or another one, because I already had a nice, satisfying vent about kale on this thread a while back. I also don’t like The Big Lebowski. And everyone loves to quote it, it’s practically iconic in some circles. Meh. I don’t need anyone to tell me, again, about how that rug tied the whole room together.
@JenJenJenJen, I have started that book 3 times, and just loathe it. Sorry…
@intparent You must be the kind of person who just looooooves War & Peace.
Must admit – I read a ton, and have never attempted it.
But I am not averse to the idea.
That’s how I feel about Seinfeld. I don’t need to hear anything about the soup Nazi or puffy shirts.
Yea, not a fan of Seinfeld nor Big Bang Theory, The Middle, nor Frazier. They are just not things I enjoy watching nor things that resonate pleasantly. In fact we watch very little TV.
" I never buy any clothing item that has the company logo spread out all over the item. I am not a billboard for their company!"
I’m not big on this but I have to admit I adore the cute lil whale on Vinyard Vines shirts. I bought several for my husband and love them (he pays zero attention to what he wears and has literally bought no item of clothing since we got married).
Having lived in England, MARMITE. Hate it.
Lord of the Rings. The books and the movies. I’ve tried to get into them many times, just cannot do it. Ditto The Hobbit.
“mindfulness”
I dislike Vera Bradley items in general. I find the patterns wearying to look at.
