Actually, what the heck, if anyone needs a house sitter here in the LA area I’ll be quite available the next few months. I’m writing my thesis and don’t have to be anywhere in particular at any time. :)

^^Bummer you don’t live in the Seattle area. I have two sweet little cavalier king charles spaniels…and a hot tub…and a refrigerator filled with beer.

You know, looking at these prices people pay, wow. If you took care of a couple of families dogs, you could rack up a lot of money.

If you pay as well as some people here do I could probably finance a flight up there and break even on my own vacation. :p

Ha, unfortunately, I don’t. We have this guy who we take the doggies over to, who pampers them, sleeps with them…treats them better than we do, for only $40. I think I read somebody on this thread actually pays $150. Holy crap!! Maybe for five vicious dogs…

For 150, I think I’d expect some yard maintenance and household repairs. That’s a week, for $1000. We had a guy who kept our dog at his house, for about $30/day- and we used to get the best status reports back from him, as if she were a child in preschool: who the dog bonded with, played with and slept next to, what she ate and etc.
